About
I build brands and the systems that keep them consistent. Voice, logo, type, color, and the guides a team actually uses. From there a small team can produce a lot of work without it drifting or going generic.
Twenty-plus years in, mostly fintech and edtech. At The PrivateBank I won a blind pitch over several outside agencies and led the rebrand that followed. It pulled in awards and international recognition, and the consumer line it launched drove more than $1.5B in new loans and deposits. At Follett Software I own the brand outright, from the look and voice down to the style guides and the production pipelines behind them.
I can run a team or hold the whole brand together as the only designer. I've done both. Most days that means setting creative direction and doing the hands-on design, then building the template and asset systems that keep the work on-brand at volume. Figma and the Adobe suite, every day.
AI is in my daily workflow. I know where it earns its place and where it just makes weak work faster. The brand is what slips first. I keep watch on it.
The other half
Music has been the center of my life since I could hold a guitar. My first real job was a music store at 17. It never left. I still play and record, and I run a repair bench on the side as Eric's Guitarworks, which over the years has meant building my own relationships with manufacturers, as a dealer and as a luthier. It's where I learned that the details nobody sees are the ones that decide whether the thing feels right.
